Junior High Math Essentials is designed as a fun, hands-on, interactive refresher course on the foundational math skills necessary to be ultimately successful in jr. high math courses. In a small group, students will receive personalized attention and tutoring to meet their specific learning needs in order to be prepared for their next level of math.

Small tutoring groups* for this program will be based on your student’s recent completion (2023-2024) of TKA benchmark tests for the following math levels:


Math 6 and General Math 6/7: Grades 6-7
Week #1 - Problem Solving, Order of Operations, Integers, Expressions, Equations
Week #2 - Problem Solving, Proportions/Rates, Factors/Multiples, Fractions, Decimals, Percentages

Pre-Algebra: Grades 6-8 
Week #1 - Problem Solving, Functions of a Line, Overall Average, Similar Triangles, Like Terms
Week #2 - Problem Solving, Area Word Problems, Unit Multipliers and Conversions, Percent Increase & Decrease, Probability
(This program is designed for students going into Pre-Algebra or Pre-Algebra students who need specific skill review so that they will be prepared for Algebra I.)


* Class size is limited to 10 students per math level group.

I acknowledge that an absence from any session will not result in a refund.
I acknowledge that behavior by my student deemed disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate by an instructor or staff member of TKA may result in dismissal from this program without a refund.
There is a non-refundable fee of $50 if a class is dropped on or before June 15, 2024.
No refunds will be issued for classes dropped after June 15, 2024.
Final date for registration and payment is June 15.
