SEE-Math 2024 Student Application Form
SEE-Math is a summer enrichment program for students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2024.  The program runs Mon-Fri, July 8-19, 2024 at 1:00-5:00. Students need to fill out this application and have a teacher fill out the Teacher Recommendation form.

There will be continuous applications beginning on  February 1, 2024  and continue while space is available.

Most years we are unable to accommodate students who have done SEE-Math previously.

At the end of this form you will be asked for a method of Certification of Ability which are
1) Participation in the TAMU Math Circle. - Tell us the years you participated for a total of at least 10 sessions.
2) A Teacher Recommendation. - Ask your teacher/counselor/Math Circle leader to complete the Teacher Recommendation Form at http://see-math.math.tamu.edu/2024/ This recommendation must come from someone other than a parent who is acquainted with the student's ability in math and/or science.

A registration fee, $100, will be collected after acceptance. If the fee is a financial hardship, it can be reduced or waived. (Contact Philip Yasskin at yasskin@tamu.edu.) If the fees are not used during SEE-Math, they will be used for outreach activities during the year or to pay organizers. Additional contributions are welcome.

Financial Hardship
My child is on the School Lunch Plan or the registration fee will be an undue financial hardship. This will have no affect on acceptance into the program. You will be contacted by a camp administrator to give you the reduced fee code for the payment form.

I understand that s/he will be subject to the regulations of Texas A&M University, the Department of Mathematics and the SEE-Math program. I will not hold any of these entities or their staff liable for unforeseen problems based on using the internet or otherwise. The Math Department has my permission to post my child's project and his/her photo identified by only first name and last initial on the SEE-Math web site: http://see-math.math.tamu.edu/ and in promotional materials.  The Math Department has my permission to include my child's name and my name, address, phone number and email address on a participant list for SEE-Math to be distributed only to other participants.  I understand that I will be required to sign a Liability Waiver Form for my child to participate in the program after being accepted. I understand that should a health emergency arise, I will be notified, but that if I cannot be reached by telephone, such medical treatment as deemed by competent medical personnel is authorized.

Computer Availability *
We expect to use University computers to do Maple during camp. We expect to provide a copy of Maple for you to install on your computer so you can work at home. Maple requires Windows, Mac or Linux. It will not work on Chromebooks. Which type of computer do you have?
