One rape is reported every 15 minutes in India… but only one out of four offenders are convicted.
There is a need to change the way our society thinks and responds to a rape survivor, subjecting her to guilt and shame for a crime she did not commit. This is the reason why most of rape cases go unreported or unsolved.
It’s time now to stop shaming & blaming of rape survivors and holding the perpetrator to account. Only when regressive mindsets change can we build public confidence in the ability of the criminal justice system to create safer communities for our women & children with modern forensic science like DNA.
If you feel strongly about this cause and want to make a difference, take up this challenge and contribute with your creativity. Express in your own unique way through a painting or poster, make a sculpture, create a video, use graphics & animation… pick the medium of your choice.
Entries will be screened and shortlisted under artist and non-artist categories. Nominees & winners will be announced on the World Art Day (April 15, 2021) when best works will be displayed in a Virtual Art Showcase. All participants will be recognised with commemorative certificates and winners will receive specially designed trophies. Students nominated in the non-artist category stand a chance to intern with Ogilvy India.
