Exoplanet Watch Las Cumbres Observatory Telescope Time Request Form
Exoplanet Watch has partnered with Las Cumbres Observatory through their Global Sky Partners program, and as such, we receive 30 hours of telescope time ever six months. If you have an upcoming observation of an exoplanet that you would like to make that won't be visible in the night sky where you live, or if the forecast is for cloudy skies that night, or you don't have your own telescope, you can use this form to request time on one of the Las Cumbres Observatory telescopes.

Note that this is a limited resource (we only get 30 hours twice a year) so not all requests will be granted.

If you are selected, instructions will be provided as to how to use the LCO telescopes.

Organization name
Organization type
Are you or your organization affiliated with a minority serving institution? Select all that apply:
City, State/Province, and Country
Name of point of contact (first, last)
Job title (including student, retired, amateur astronomer, etc. if not a professional astronomer)
Phone number, including area code
Email address of individual or point of contact for an organization
Paragraph describing who will be using the telescope time
Date(s) telescope time is wanted (Note: this will help us with scheduling our Global Sky Partners telescope time, but does not guarantee that you will get the telescope during your desired six-month window. We renew our collaboration with LCO in six-month increments.)
Note: You will be required to submit a report of how the telescope time was used, how many people used it, and be willing to respond to surveys by our external evaluator, Goodman Research Group. There is an expectation that the telescope time will be used to participate in Exoplanet Watch, observing transiting exoplanets for citizen science applications. Should the point of contact at your institution change, JPL must be notified in writing as soon as possible.
If you have any questions about requesting LCO telescope time, contact Exoplanet Watch by email at exoplanetwatch@jpl.nasa.gov
Which exoplanet(s) do you want to study using LCO telescopes? What do you hope to learn? Are you doing this out of personal interest, for a school assignment, or other?
