Budget season is here and your voice is needed to help us shape the People's Budget Office!
People’s Budget Office is a public art installation housed in a retrofitted shipping container on the NW side of LOVE Park. Visitors can engage in hands-on activities, watch budget proceedings, and attend engaging events that cover urgent issues including public schools, criminal justice, taxes, arts, environmental justice, parks and recreation, and libraries. The Office will include printed information about the City’s proposed budget, and free posters that highlight demands by the Alliance for a Just Philadelphia and various city departments. Visitors will be able to sign up to testify at City Council budget hearings and contribute their own funding ideas to the office. City Council’s budget hearings will be screened on-site on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
We are asking organizations if they want to participate in the People's Budget Office. Here are the ways you can get involved:
- Use the People’s Budget Office for your own event or speaking at one of our events
- Facilitating a lunch & learn about your core issues
- Contribute materials to the People’s Budget Office, think brochures, posters, signs -- whatever might be useful to share with the public
