If you are interested in the Eating Disorder Centre of the SSMU's Peer-to-Peer Connections messaging services, please input your information here.
Our Peer-to- Peer Connections Messaging platform connects McGill users to two volunteers where all users can communicate in a virtual, long-term, confidential basis. The volunteers provide non-directional, non-judgmental, inclusive support through messages. The user is free to send as long or as short messages as they want, and as much or little as they want. Volunteers will answer within 72 hours.
Our volunteers have received training in active listening, peer mental health support, eating disorders and disordered eating, body image issues, trauma informed care, and anti-oppressive practice. They are not therapists, psychologists, social workers or psychiatrists. To find out more, email
eatingdisorder@ssmu.ca.
This service is free of charge, and does not require any kind of diagnosis. It is open to anyone who wishes to discuss experiences with disordered eating, body image issues, and/or eating disorders.
Thank you!
