Call for Participants 

Future Western Balkan Leaders is a project that aims to empower youth with fewer opportunities in decision-making, further develop the sense of intercultural environment and encourage dialogue among them in Western Balkan Countries.
What is it about? 
This project will include 3 participants from each country, in total 15 youngsters. The project will be implemented through a set of activities which includes: 

Virtual Workshops 
A total of 8 workshops will be organized on a diverse set of topics. 
These workshops will be organized on Thursdays, 18:00 - 20:00 during June and July 2023. 
The workshops will be delivered by using e-learning educational techniques and the platform to be used is Google Meetings as an open and free platform.

Topics of the workshops will be as follows: 
1. Diversity as a value - how prejudice, stereotype, discrimination affect our society?
2. Youth challenges and innovation - what are mobility options for WB youngsters?
3. Democracy values - why voting matters?
4. How important is happiness - what love language do we speak?
5. Transparency and corruption - how civic activism ensures socio-economic development?
6. Youth in decision-making - why does each voice matter?
7. Gender equality - what’s the role we play?
8. Mental Health - are we sane?

A summer camp “Youth for a diverse and democratic Western Balkans”
A 5 day event with in-person attendance will take place in Sarajevo, during August, 2023. Participants will have the chance to learn more about civic activism, be inspired, strengthen their bond with their peers, and explore Sarajevo. You will have the chance to learn, travel, visit another city and create summer memories, which is a great opportunity for you to develop soft skills such as team work, public speaking, networking etc.

In order to be eligible to participate in the summer camp, it is required from each participant to attend minimum 6 workshops. 

Who can apply?
In order to be eligible for this project the following criteria is required: 
1. Be 18 - 20 years old. 
2. From one of the following countries:  Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo and North Macedonia
3. All activities will be delivered in English language, thus min A2 level of English language proficiency is required.

We encourage all interested youngsters to apply, please kindly note that priority will be given to youth from rural areas and those with fewer opportunities. Because we want to support youth, a mentor will be assigned to participants from each country.

Costs:
All costs related to the summer camp such as: accommodation, food,  health insurance and transport from your country to Sarajevo and back will be covered by the project. 

Deadline for application for participants from Kosova and Albania is: 25.05.2023, h23:59 CET. 
The results for selected applicants is 29.05.2023
