PASTOR EDWIN T. MOORE, D. Min

Born March 3, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio, Edwin Moore is the oldest and only son of three children to the parents of Eddie and Rosemary Moore. Coming from a rich heritage of musically inclined family, Edwin showed interest in music at an early age and could often be found in front of an instrument at any church.

In July of 1976 Edwin accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was baptized under the Pastorate of Pastor Harold W. Luter. Edwin attended church regularly and began working in the music ministry of the church as a percussionist when he was 14. At age 18 he was leading the music ministry and responsible for all the choirs.

Edwin played and directed for numerous choirs throughout the city. To his credit he has overseen award winning choirs, been featured on television, radio, newspaper and has been honored with many awards that reflect his love of gospel music.

In April of 1994 Edwin acknowledged a Ministerial Calling on his life and was licensed under the hand of Pastor Harold W. Luter. After preparation, training, studying and demonstration of ministerial gifts he was then ordained under the hand of Pastor Harold W. Luter in January 1996.

Following ordination Edwin was rarely sitting still. With the blessing of his Pastor, Edwin accepted the full time position of Youth Pastor at a local church. Having a passion for young people, Edwin developed and was the establishmentarian and overseer of Shabach Ministries, Inc. (Cleveland, Ohio). This multifaceted ministry was responsible for conducting educational and musical workshops, youth outreach, feeding the hungry, prison ministry and a host of other services. The goal was to “Win the lost at any cost”.

Other ministerial experience include the Pastor of religious programming at the Jones Home Center, Assistant to the Chaplin at the Cuyahoga Hills Boys School, member of the College of Preachers (Greater Love FGBC), Cleveland State University Gospel Choir Director, Associate Minister and Parish Pastor at Faith Temple Church of God.

In June 2000 Edwin was united in Holy Matrimony with his “GOOD THING”. Edwin and his wife Renae both shared a passion for young people and a deeper passion for ministry.

After much prayer and sound counsel, Edwin and Renae stepped out on what they knew to be the will of God and organized the vision “Way of Escape Ministries”. In May 2004 the church had its first service and shortly thereafter Edwin and Renae were installed as Pastors under the hands of Bishop John Hilton and Pastor Harold W. Luter.

In January of 2007 Pastors Edwin and Renae were presented with Doctors of Ministry Degree from Living Waters Biblical Institute. This honor was bestowed upon them for recognition of their many years of dedicated ministerial service and accomplishments.

In 2014 because of his passion for the youth and for ministry Edwin began the CAV movement (Christians Against Violence), which crossed denominations and involved many church leaders for sole purpose of calling the church into action out in the community.

Along with his busy schedule in ministry he is involved in law enforcement and is a licensed CCW (Carry Concealed Weapon) instructor.

As the ministry continues to grow, it is their desire to see the people of God reach their full potential and become all that God is calling them to be.
