Better Ally Ep 16: religious minorities
Join us for a lunchtime event about how we can better support religious minorities. We aim to create a brave space (the space right between the comfort zone and the trigger/danger area), where we can all hear each other with openness and grow together.

What? Better Ally Series - religious minorities
When? Wednesday, November 9, 12-1:30pm PDT
Where? Zoom (link sent out prior to event)

The theme for our November event is religious minorities

We will start with a discussion of this article which describes historical discrimination against Jews in college admissions: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M5359EB-Pz5JCQEzGbaSxsF8u22aq8Ag/view?usp=share_link

We will then discuss this article discussing the relationship between religion and STEM identity among Latina students: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q6-sUH6TMCvvLk6GDK8tiRxH1Sz6PBrv/view?usp=share_link

We will also discuss this blog post on a Muslim worker asking for a prayer space: https://www.omareletr.com/blog/i-asked-my-manager-for-a-prayer-space

We will work in small groups to identify where/how you could be implementing changes in your personal and professional spaces, and develop written allyship accountability and action plans.
