The mission of The J. P. Knapp Early College High School is to provide a personalized learning environment bridging the gap between high school and college through rigorous and relevant instruction emphasizing relationships and leadership development.  The selection committee will review each application and all documentation.  Each student must be genuinely interested in the pursuit of this rigorous program.  

The J. P. Knapp Early College has the following admission criteria:
• The J. P. Knapp Early College Application
       o Clear responses written by the student
       o Fully completed application
• Students who may be either:
       o First-generation college students
       o Members of families lacking financial resources for a college education
       o Minority students, English language learners, or "at risk" students
       o Students who have the potential to work well independently
• Other criteria considered by the selection committee include the student’s demonstrated:
       o Ability to work independently and as part of a team
       o Enthusiasm for non-traditional approaches to learning
       o Eagerness to accept rigorous coursework
       o Leadership ability or potential
       o Motivation and self-initiative
• Parent/Legal Guardian Commitment
       o The parent/legal guardian and family commitment to the early college concept is essential.

Applications are accepted February 1st, 2020 through March 17th, 2020.  Note:  Please make sure that your address is correct on this application and in Powerschool if you are a CCS student.
