Word Up Community Bookshop’s new virtual after-school program for elementary school students open to kids in 1st and 2nd grade who are interested in literature, visual arts, movement, music and more.The kids will enjoy visits from artists, writers, and musicians from all over the world!

The program is facilitated by two teaching artists, Reza Salazar and Robby Kim, who are longtime members of the Word Up community.

Each participant will receive free copies of the following books:
- Chato’s Kitchen by Gary Soto
- Have you ever seen a flower? by Shawn Harris
- Harlem Grown by Tony Hillery

Schedule:
This program runs for three months: April to June, 2021
Tuesdays, 5-6pm, on Zoom
Dates;
April: 6, 13, 20, 27
May: 4, 11, 18, 25
June: 1, 8, 15, 22

You will be emailed a Zoom link when we confirm your registration.

The program is pay-what-you-can, but spots are limited, so please double check the dates and make sure your child is able to attend.

El nuevo programa virtual de la Librería Comunitaria Word Up, después de la escuela, es ofrecido a estudiantes de la escuela primaria, para niños en primero y segundo grado interesados en literatura, artes visuales, movimiento, música y otros. ¡Los niños gozarán de visitas de artistas, escritores, y músicos del mundo entero! Cada participante recibirá copias gratis de los tres libros que anunciaremos en el futuro.
El programa es facilitado por dos artistas maestros, Reza Salazar y Robby Kim, miembros veteranos de la comunidad de Word Up.
