Virtual breakout sessions will be approximately 50-minutes each. Longer sessions will be considered for excellent mobile sessions or intensive workshops. We ask that individuals limit themselves to being a presenter in no more than two proposals.
Selected presenters will not have to pay any registration fee.
Proposal Types:
SINGLE PRESENTATION (1 or 2 PRESENTERS)
A single presentation proposal includes one or two presenters (please do not submit more than two presenters). Your session will be 40 minutes long (20 minutes per presenter or an entire presentation for a single presenter)—plan for 10 minutes of discussion time and Q&A at the end. The two presentations will share Q&A time.
PAIRED PRESENTATION (2 PRESENTERS)
You may submit a proposal for a presentation and we will find another complimentary presentation to pair with yours. Your session will be 40 minutes long (20 minutes per presentation)—plan for 10 minutes of discussion time and Q&A at the end. The two presentations will share Q&A time.
MODERATED PANEL DISCUSSION (1 MODERATOR, 2-3 PANELISTS)
A moderated panel discussion proposal includes a session moderator and up to 3 panelists (please do not submit more than three panelists). Moderated discussions should last around 35 minutes with 10-15 minutes for Q&A or other interactive components. There will be a limited number of moderated panel discussion slots available.
MOBILE SESSION (1-2 PRESENTERS)
A mobile session proposal includes one or two presenters leading site visits or walking tours that help participants learn about and/or experience challenges to walking, as well as opportunities for increasing walkability and placemaking. Sessions must be highly interactive and can last either one session (50 minutes) or two sessions (110 minutes).
WORKSHOP (1-2 PRESENTERS)
A workshop proposal includes one or two presenters and helps participants gain hands-on experiences related to walkability and placemaking. Sessions must be highly interactive and can last either one session (50 minutes) or two sessions (110 minutes).
SMALL-GROUP INTERACTIVE DISCUSSION (1-2 MODERATORS)
In a small group interactive discussion, one or two moderator(s) will lead a 50-minute interactive discussion where people can brainstorm or discuss topics such as community outreach, partnering with bicycle advocates, or creative funding.
Proposals will be selected based on scoring, competition for a given topic or focus area, presenter expertise, and the expected value to summit participants.
