What is Project Transformation?
Mission: to transform communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships.
Vision: We envision a world that is rooted in love; pursues the equity of all people, and amplifies God’s call on every life.
· This year is the 25th anniversary of Project Transformation. Within North Texas, PT involves:
o 11 site churches
o 135 PT members, providing after-school and summer programs
o Annually serves 1,200 children and youth, in grades 1-12
o 90 partner churches
o 2,000 volunteers
· Benefits and successes of the program:
o Children from low-income neighborhoods improve their literacy, social-emotional, and spiritual development through participating in high-quality, out-of-school time programs led by college-age young adults.
o Churches in these communities host the out-of-school time programs, reconnecting and building relationships with their neighbors.
o 95% of children and youth maintain or improve their reading levels over the summer.
o 92% of young adult alumni say that PTO prepared them for future leadership in the church or community.
