The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) is inviting public input on 24 candidate projects as part of the FY2024-2029 Six Year Program (SYP). Nine Northern Virginia localities and the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) have submitted project applications, seeking regional funding from NVTA. These projects, totaling nearly $1 billion in funding requests, encompass a range of transportation modes, such as transit, rail, roadway enhancements, transportation technology, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure upgrades, as well as intersection and interchange improvements.
