City Slicker Farms Board Member Application
Thank you for your interest in City Slicker Farms and our Board of Directors. Service on the Board offers a tremendous opportunity to help mold our programs and strategies, which will positively impact Oakland and beyond for years to come.

The Board’s primary responsibilities are governance, oversight, fundraising, and strategic planning (for a full description of the duties and responsibilities, please see the Board Member Job Description). Board members commit to an average of 5-10 volunteer hours per month, including attending board meetings, working on at least one committee, off meeting work such as keeping up on board emails, attending fundraising and other events, and attending an annual retreat. Board meetings are held monthly via video or phone, or at our Farm Park site in West Oakland. Board appointments are for two years, with the option to renew up to three times.

Once you have completed this application, please email your resume to board@cityslickerfarms.org.

Questions may also be directed to that email address. We will respond within two weeks with next steps in the process, which include speaking with members of the board and the Executive Director, visiting a program, and attending a board meeting.

Thank you so much for your time and interest!

A key role of the Board is fundraising and all Board Members are expected to give. Are you able to make an annual or recurring contribute to CSF?
We ask Board Members to hold two year terms (with the option for renewal), maintain 80%attendance at monthly Board meetings, commit to specific work tasks to build and support the organization, be available for phone consultation as needed with staff or other Board members, and attend a 1-2 day Annual Retreat. Barring any unforeseen circumstances can you make this commitment?
