Wests Interest Form
The next competition coming up is the Wests, which will be held in Bailey Allen Hall at the University of Galway, on the weekend of April 1st-2nd! This would be a great first open (meaning not novice, anyone in the country can sign up) competition for anyone in the club, even if you haven't been out competing yet so far. It'll be fun and a sure way to improve your fencing!

You must do all of the following four things by Thursday March 30th at 11:59pm in order to get properly registered!

1. Be a member of Fencing Ireland. Your first year of membership is free! If you already signed up last semester, you're all set. If not, sign up here.

2. Fill out the Galway registration form, here. This is how you officially register for the comp.

3. Book into the Wests event on Wolves.  To show UL we do things, yay!

4. Finish filling out this form!  This is so Marika can set up a Discord channel for sorting travel plans and gear.

Now to the info:
Open comps are for anyone, which means there's so many cool people to meet, including beginners and experienced fencers who love to help new folks getting started.

Plan to be away for the entirety of the day(s) of your event(s), early morning to evening.

The cost of the competition is 20€ for one weapon or 25€ for two. This will be paid in cash when you check in at the competition. There is also the possible cost of accommodation if you want to spend the night. You will have to pay for travel initially but can get that reimbursed by the club as long as you get receipts!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask a committee member, or send a message to the Discord or the Instagram page!
