Arizona State University is a Platinum Member Organization of the Carpentries community. As a Platinum Member, ASU sponsors individuals to attend an online Carpentries Instructor Training workshop. These training workshops are held quarterly and by filling out this form you can register your interest in attending a training workshop via ASU sponsorship.

ASU sponsorship for Carpentries Training Workshop is open to members of the ASU community, the Greater Phoenix Community, and partnering institutions.

There are limited training spots available, and people who do not receive a slot this year will be placed on a waiting list for attending a future workshop. If you receive a slot, you will be contact via email with instructions on how to sign up for the training.

This training is designed for people who want to become certified Carpentries instructors. We recommend that you be familiar with at least one of the technologies that we teach (R, Python, the Unix bash shell, SQL, OpenRefine, spreadsheet software, and/or Git) before taking Instructor Training. This training will not teach any of those subjects, but will instead focus on developing skill and knowledge about evidence-based teaching practices and workshop procedures.
