The project aims to improve the quality of youth work in highly complex contexts of armed conflict, post-conflict or structural violence, increasing the skills and knowledge of youth workers working in these contexts. The project creates spaces for reflection on educational action and for the sedimentation of innovative practices.
Ludopedagogy is an approach that was born in Uruguay in the 1970s as a response to dictatorship, precisely from an active group of young educators who, taking inspiration from the pedagogy of oppressed by Paulo
Freire, developed this approach based on the role of the GAME as a tool of existence and resistance.
We are searching for youth workers:
- available to attend ALL THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PROJECT
- that work daily with teenagers and young people in contexts of armed conflict, post-conflict or structural violence
The phases of the project are:
- Training for youth workers (24th-31st of May, Torino,Italy);
- Local activities and "Fridays on the COACH" (summer and autumn 2024): the participants of the training will design and implement local experimental non-formal education activities inspired on the ludopedagogy approach which will reach 20 young people at local events. Participants of the training together with their local organisation will organise a webinar online sharing their experience with the methodology of ludopedagogy. "Fridays on the COACH" is a cycle of virtual meetings, 8 in total, each organized by a specific partner and open to at least 20 youth workers, to bring awareness to and disseminate the method of ludopedagogy. Both local activities and virtual meetings will be organised with the monitoring and support of the trainers.
- Seminar (January 2025, Torino, Italy): participants will be invited to share some case studies which will be discussed again within the group and from which the trainers will help to develop a theorisation.
