Facilitator:ODE Science Consultants

The Science Standards Series consists of  three one-day sessions facilitated by ODE science specialists. Participants attend all three. The sessions are spaced to allow participants to discuss and apply ideas from each session.  

Topics include:

• Standards 101—components of the standards and model curriculum including the newly developed “Nature of Science” section.

• Instruction—implications of the revisions for both content and pedagogical shifts.

• Implementation—transitioning to 2018 standards, curriculum planning, identifying quality instructional materials, and
 more.

Districts are encouraged to send teams to facilitate grade and/or vertical planning. Individual participants will have an opportunity for support with their individual planning.
