Our goal is to understand
how intelligence arises in brains and machines.
- We will investigate how biophysics of cells and synapses give rise to biological learning rules in human and animal brains and how these can be leveraged to develop the next generation AI.
- Conversely, we will investigate how the powerful learning rules in AI, e.g. error back propagation, might be implemented in biology.
We will hold regular
journal clubs,
hackathons and
collaborative research projects. Expertise in either math, physics, neuroscience, computer science, or hacking is a plus.
