DESCRIPTION:
This day is a unique opportunity to inform your teaching practice through peer observation and includes an introduction to the new Minnesota Academic Standards in the Visual Arts. To accomplish this,
1) We will observe Regional Arts Teacher-Leader Cheri Weber teach her second and third grade Visual Arts classes. Teachers will get to see: Critical response techniques, inquiry instructional strategies, assessment techniques, and learn about ways Rockford Elementary Arts Magnet School integrates arts throughout its curriculum.

2) Following the observation, Jeremy Holien will facilitate a discussion of our observations and later introduce you to the new Minnesota Academic Standards in the Visual Arts.
You will take away new ideas and strategies for your classroom, plus have a better understanding of how the new Visual Arts standards relate to the classes you teach.

DETAILS:
The day is facilitated by Jeremy Holien, Visual Arts and Media Arts Education Specialist in Professional Development & Resource Programs at Perpich Center for Arts Education. There is no cost to participate.
A certificate for 6 clock hours will be distributed at the end of the day.

Note: The maximum number of participants is 10. Registration will be closed when we reach that number.
