About Krita
Krita, pronounced KREE-ta, is a free and open-source raster graphics editor designed primarily for digital art and 2D animation. It works like a Photoshop/photo editing software too, but it's primary function is to make digital art, like Corel Painter or SAI.
About June Program:
We will be learning basic functions of the program and keyboard shortcuts for the the first class on June 4. Computer, Mouse, and Keyboard knowledge is a must. After the first session, we will be utilizing graphic tablets for the program and digital mice (no touch pads).
In the next three session we will be learning about brushes, paint styles, and sizing before creating a final art piece. In the last session, June 25, (if we have time) we'll go over printing, matting and mounting final pieces.
Lastly, if a participant cannot make a session, we cannot help catch them up. Our facilitator is there to help and to teach, not to do the work for the participants. We will go over specific topics each session and each one is designed to build upon the last. We have a very full curriculum planned for the 4 weeks of June so please come ready to learn and create.
