https://ciera.northwestern.edu/programs/ret/

Northwestern University’s Baxter Center for Science Education (BCSE) and Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) are inviting high school STEM teachers to apply for their summer Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program. Four outstanding teachers will be selected to gain hands-on research experience working alongside CIERA astronomers and BCSE curriculum experts. Teachers will participate in cutting-edge research projects using Python programming, attend scientific lectures, and take part in curriculum-development workshops aligned with NGSS. The RET program aims to help teachers bring their research experiences from the cosmos into their classrooms.

Teachers are paid a stipend of $6,000 after completion of the program.

Program dates: JUNE 10 - JULY 19

Application deadline: APRIL 7th, 2024
