2. Financial Need

HGEC is committed to global representation, diversity and inclusivity, especially for historically marginalized or under-represented folks in Self-Directed Education settings. This program is vibrant due to the awesome youth members that spend time with us and our amazing program facilitators. We are able to financially support our guest facilitators at the rate they request for their time.

However, we are consistently unable to adequately compensate our in-house facilitators, folks that spend the most time around the young people. We use observation and intuition in a relational dance with each youth member and their parents. Sabrina, executive director, founder and an in-house facilitator, has been volunteering countless hours for the past 5 years; and our other in-house facilitators (parents and young adults) have worked with open hearts at nominal cost. This is a plea and transparency.

We understand and trust our HGEC families support us to the degree their own life allows. We are requesting you reflect on your ability to support the stability of our program with your financial contribution which reflects your value of our program, and fits in your overall family financial budget. Inclusion in HGEC Community should not result in undue hardship that adversely impacts your mind or body wellness. We will endeavor to meet you at the intersection of tending to both our needs on this journey!

We are also looking for volunteers to support HGEC with their time and talents, please use the space on item no. 6, below, to indicate your desire for contribution in this regard if you're so pulled.

3. Financial Contribution Commitment

Our requested contribution to sustain the program is: $60/day (equal to $10/hr.). For Winter/Spring Semester this amounts to:

$ 3240 (3 days/ wk per person)

$ 2220 (2 days/wk pp)

$ 1140 (1day/wk pp)

(For Spring 2024: Please note, Visionary Group Fridays as at no additional cost to members attending 3 days a week, IF physical and mental resources are available for HGEC to host the event. Therefore hosting Fridays are at the sole discretion of Sabrina Mahmood.)

Fee Reduction Request: HGEC, Inc. values your inclusion at all costs, if the financial request stretches you towards discomfort in your nervous system and cortisol release, you are please encouraged to request a Fee Reduction (see below). This is with trusting in your capacity, the abundance of universe energy flow, principles of Gift Economy and that things will work out.

Sibling Discounts: You call it! Same principle as above.

Refunds: Please request refund(s) for days not used due to unexpected extended illness, IF the financial wellness of your family depends on it. HGEC commitments to our awesome facilitators, in-house or guest, does not change when folks are unable to come.

4. Please indicate your financial contribution amount and the number of days your child(ren) will come. If you will be requesting a reduction, please write in "Requesting reduction" as well as the amount of your contribution for Winter/ Spring Semester.

Payment from members is requested by the 1st Tuesday of the month. HGEC pays its facilitators at the beginning of each month.
