Session 1.3 - What is Your Story Called?
THE GOAL: Play around with titles for your two different story ideas and WAY MORE IMPORTANTLY practicing committing your ideas to paper quickly and with as little angst as possible (using ALPHABETICAL LISTS).
Time commitment: 20 minutes

Coming up with titles for your story right now is completely impractical because you likely don't know enough about it, and plus most published authors don't even get to decide on the final title of their books anyway, so angsting about your title is a trap. Which makes it the perfect exercise for writing down a bunch of stuff that might stress you out and practicing not giving a crap.

Improv Game: Alphabetical Lists
Listing things in alphabetical order as quickly as possible is a great way to put your creative process outside of your own control. And if you're not in control, hopefully you can't be too hard on yourself trying to make it good, smart or whatever else. Plus you'll end up surprising yourself and generating content you never would have come up with under normal circumstances.
Improv Drill: Make an alphabetical list of 13 first names of people in your life (A through M).
(Amy, Beth, Chad, Derek, etc.)
Improv Drill: Make an alphabetical list of 13 first names that you've never actually met (N through Z).
(Namor, Osgood, Penelope, Quinten, etc.)
Writing Goal: Come up with Alphabetical Titles for Your Two Story Ideas
Set a timer for 15 minutes and bang out titles A-Z for both of your story ideas. Bonus points if you get at least two cheesy puns, three titles you absolutely hate, and a Shakespeare reference in there.
Writing Exercise 1: List 26 alphabetical titles for your first story
Work through the alphabet A-Z, and anytime you get hung up on a letter, just put down anything you can and MOVE ON. No going back and fixing things!
Writing Exercise 2: List 26 alphabetical titles for your second story
Work through the alphabet A-Z. Go fast and get some deeply mediocre ones in there.
