About the Program

This is our 10th Anniversary Summer! In celebration we will be restaging our first show, Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.

Your child will shine on stage and under the sea in this bubbly fun production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, this show is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.

With gadgets and gizmos and fishes galore, there is something for everyone in our fun filled production.

So what do you do in a three-week musical program?

Upon arrival, students will have a chance to casually greet each other and staff. Program will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a Daily Meeting to discuss the needs and plan for the day. Mornings will be spent learning the music for the show including vocal warm ups, games, and study. Mornings will also include acting, blocking, and choreography rehearsals. All students will be on- stage during the production (even if they are not cast in a lead role.) Every member of our cast and team is important.

We pause for lunch and some brain break games in the middle of the day. After lunch, students will break out into age groups and rotate through sessions in scenic design, costuming, and learning extensions during which students will be designing scenery, making costumes, and learning about the world beyond our show. We will also use this time to hold more focused rehearsals with smaller groups.

Throughout the program, we find opportunities to take walking field trips to the park and other locations.

At the end of three weeks, we will stage two public, one-hour performances of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. that every student will have a role in and have had a hand in creating.
