This google form is your audition application!  You must submit your completed auditions (complete with video links) by Sunday, Jan. 30th.  Please prepare all of your audition material, film your audition requirements, and save it to your Google Drive BEFORE starting to fill out this google form.  

Class Descriptions:

Advanced Drama studies the artistic, technical, management, and performance elements of a live theatre production. As a part of the planning, rehearsal, and performance, students assume positions of responsibility and demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in acting, directing, artistic criticism, script analysis, staging, character creation, vocal techniques, and physical movement. Students recognize the responsibilities of the producer, director, actors, designers, technicians, and managers through collaboration in the creation of a theatre performance. This course is a production class for our  fall One Act Play and spring Literary Teams -- there will be required rehearsals/performances outside of class.  Students in this class will perform in 2 productions per year.

Musical Theatre I introduces the style and characteristic elements of musical theater. Explores the mechanics of production, staging, voice, and dance. Explores the career opportunities available in musical theatre and offers opportunities for performance. Musical Theatre II and III enhances level-one skills with a focus on production and provides opportunities for performance.  This course is a production class for our Tea Party, Winter Showcase, and Spring Musical.

What to prepare:  
Advanced Drama -- 1 min. memorized monologue (dramatic or comedic), headshot, resume
Musical Theatre --  1 min. cut of a memorized musical theatre song performed with a karaoke track, 30 sec. memorized monologue (dramatic or comedic), dance audition video (see links below), headshot, resume

Dance videos for Musical Theatre Auditions:
The dance audition is to "Just Around the Corner" from The Addams Family Musical. Please make sure that you are using the Broadway recording for your music. The combo starts at 2:18 and goes to 3:08. Please note that you can go up to 3:20 to show off any special dance skills that you may have. This can include, but is not limited to splits, cartwheels, turns, jumps, creating your own choreography, etc. However, if you would just like to submit yourself just doing the audition combo, that's totally fine.

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions: Yes, you can audition for both Advanced Theatre and Musical Theatre. Yes, you can get placed in BOTH classes if you have room in your schedule (most students do have room for 2 electives plus a pathway).  These are year long courses (fall/spring semesters) with multiple after school productions.
