VUMC Trans Buddy Volunteer Interest Form
Thanks so much for your interest in the Trans Buddy program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center! The Trans Buddy program exists is to increase access to care and improve healthcare outcomes for transgender people by providing emotional support to transgender patients during healthcare visits. We emphasize a patient-centered  approach, with the goal of empowering the patient to make informed healthcare decisions. We hold trainings twice a year, after which volunteers are expected to commit to 1-2 on-call shifts per month. In order to be considered for a volunteer position and sent a formal application, please complete the following simple screening questions. Please reach out to Shawn Reilly at shawn.e.reilly@vanderbilt.edu with any questions and concerns you have about the program.

Please note: since the beginning of the pandemic, the Trans Buddy program has paused volunteer involvement. However, we hope to begin welcoming volunteers in January 2023.
