Course Name: Fado- A Semi Classical Urban Folksong ( 1 Credit Course)*
Significance
of the Course:
Fado is a music
genre that came to Goa in the late 1800s. It has been a part of the Goan music

genres in different languages and from different cultures. Be it Arabic,
African, Korean or any other.
It is therefore
important that the art form of Fado, which has been in Goa for centuries, be
protected and promoted for the future generations in Goa and India. The course

Portuguese, and/or, who do not have a deep knowledge of music.
