BCGHS Donation Form

We welcome original donations or unaltered copies of documents, manuscripts, maps, or books in the preferred category below. Please call the BCGHS office at 865-273-1409 or send an email to PRESIDENT@BCGHSTN.ORG and reserve a time for us to receive your donation(s).

DONATIONS PREFERRED BY THE BCGHS

All Blount County records plus early records from the following counties in East TN: Greene, Washington, Hawkins, McMinn, Monroe, Sevier, and Jefferson. These records may include the following that include source citations: local histories, family genealogies, house histories, and bibles with genealogies and publication page. Also, original land grants/deeds, court records, and military records in almost any condition.
Photos in good condition of identifiable Blount County people, homes or businesses.
Native American records and histories in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Oklahoma.
Genealogy reference books subject to prior approval during inspection.

DONATIONS WE CANNOT ACCEPT

No donations or containers holding donations will be accepted in a poor, unreadable, dirty, smelly, moldy, or hazardous condition. (*Some fragile documents of historical significance may be acceptable to transfer to another medium. Call the office to discuss*.)
No large computer printouts of surnames from Ancestry or Family Search.
No commercial mass-produced surname genealogies or heraldry books.
No national surname newsletters.
No CDs, DVDs or Microfilm without prior approval. Contact the BCGHS office.
No Who’s Who Books, Encyclopedia books or general information book sets.
