2022 Tybee Equality Fest "This is Me" Tybee Equality Fest Parade

Julia Pearce is our Grand Marshall at this year’s Tybee Equality Fest parade Sept. 10th 2022! She has done SO much for Tybee since she graced Georgia with her presence. She’s one of the creators and the coordinator for the Tybee MLK Human Rights Organization and Lead Organizer for the TybeeMLK Juneteenth Celebration on Tybee Island. She helped pass the Resolution Promoting Justice and Equality in which June 19 was designated an official City holiday in the summer of 2020.

“We need to live lives of abundance,” she says. “Life is good. And we should be around people who feed us in the sense that they make us grow stronger.”

To pay for Parade Entries: Click Here 501c3 Charitable Organization $50, Commercial/Business Walking Groups $75, Commercial/Business Float or Vehicle $125. Fill out form and then pay, so we have all your information. 

Parade Guidelines:

1) Check-in line up starts at 11:00 AM, Sept 10th and closes at Noon. 

2) Parade begins promptly at 1:00 AM at Memorial Park + Butler. All units are to be prepared to move forward by 12:30 PM. 

3) Identification banner is REQUIRED for all entries.

4) FORWARD motion must be maintained throughout the parade route.

NO STOPPING TO PERFORM FOR ANY REASON.

5) All participants must be uniformed, costumed or appropriately attired.

6) No shooting of firearms, no sirens or other loud noises that interfere with other units will be permitted.

7) Noise levels of each entry should be so that each entry can be heard. NO vehicle honking or air horns permitted.

8) Submitting a completed application does not imply acceptance into the parade you will receive approval via email within a week of application.

9) All entries should have a positive theme which respects diversity, inclusion, and isn't divisive or does harm to another group.
