2022 Manawatu Primary and Intermediate Interschool Triathlon Champs:

Please do not attend our event if you are unwell or are waiting on Covid test results
Please read the Covid conditions we have in place to run events.

Online Registration is required for this event, which closes on 11th March.

Please write your number and School abbreviation on your hand before arriving. e.g. 501 WIN for bib number 501 Winchester school. Your Bib number will be in the confirmation email and can be found in the Confirmation list online

Event Time: 10:30am – 3.00pm
- Intermediate (Y7 & Y8) from 11:00am until 12:30pm
- Primary (Y5 & Y6) from 1:00pm until 3.00pm

Limits:
Each school may enter a maximum of 10 students per year group, of which there can be no more than 5 of each gender:
Year 5 Boy (5 Max) Year 5 Girl (5 Max)
Year 6 Boy (5 Max) Year 6 Girl (5 Max)
Year 7 Boy (5 Max) Year 7 Girl (5 Max)
Year 8 Boy (5 Max) Year 8 Girl (5 Max)

Distances
Yr 5: 1km Run; 3km Bike; 75m Swim
Yr 6: 1km Run; 3km Bike; 75m Swim
Yr 7: 1.5km Run, 4km bike, 150m swim
Yr 8: 1.5km Run, 4km bike, 150m swim

Cost
$3 Per individual, this is to be paid to your school. Schools will be invoiced by the Manawatu Triathlon Club.

Race Schedule:
Race briefing for each age group is done prior to their race
11.00 RACE: ALL Year 7 girls and boys
11.30 RACE: ALL Year 8 girls and boys

1.00 RACE: Year 5 Girls
1.30 RACE: Year 5 Boys
2:00 RACE: Year 6 Girls
2.30 RACE: Year 6 Boys

Safety is our utmost concern so please be safe when riding in groups and be wary & respectful of the other competitors.

Rules
1. Road bikes and mountain bikes are permitted. E-bikes are not permitted for this event, unless battery has been removed.
2. Course marshals MUST be obeyed at all times.
3. An approved and correctly fitting helmet MUST be worn during the cycle leg. The helmet must be fastened before mounting the bike and should not be unfastened until dismounting the bike.
4. Shoes need to be worn on the run and cycle legs.
5. T-shirts, rash vest, togs or tri suit covering the torso need to be worn during the run and cycle legs of the race.
6. Participants not complying with event rules will be subject to disqualification.
7. Participants will complete the race once they have touched the end of the swimming pool, following the swim leg
