GOOD PRACTICES FOR ACHIEVING GENDER EQUALITY IN RECRUITMENT AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT OF RESEARCHERS IN EUROPE.
The Open, Transparent, Merit Based-recruitment toolkit is a set of recommendations of the European Commision to foster better researchers recruitment processes in European Institutions. This toolkit is part of the Charter and Code for Researchers, a set of principles that identify the rights and obligations of European researchers and institutions.

We believe this OTM-r toolkit is a great tool for institutions to improve their recruitment proceses, but we also think that it might be improved by including the gender dimension to it.

In this form we have identified those parts of the toolkit that might be improved with this gender perspective and we ask you to help us identify how.

We have divided the toolkit in 4 different phases and included a last one on career development becaus we also want to have your input there.

I) OPEN, TRANSPARET, MERIT-BASED RECRUITMENT SYSTEM AS A WHOLE

II) ADVERTISEMENT AND APPLICATION PHASE

III) APPOINTMENT

IV) OVERALL ASESSMENT

V) CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Please, go through our questionnaire and let us know you ideas on how to improve the researchers recruitment process. Don´t be too afraid of being out of scope or repetitive! We really want to know your first thoughts about it.  With this information, plus the input of future GEARING-Roles workshops we aim at issuing a set of recommendations on how to improve the current version of the Open, Transparent, Merit-based recruitment toolkit.
