Normally I do a 15 minute presentation followed by roughly 30 minute Q&A. The presentation is about my story: my books, my writing, how I got to where I am, etc. My books are middle-grade fiction and titled One Chance and Two Secrets. The story of how I wrote and published my books encourages kids to read, write, follow their own dreams, and emphasizes hard work.
Frequently, media specialist or a lead english teacher coordinate on behalf of the school so I can speak to as many of the kids at the same time! This makes it easier for me to present and maximize the reach without taking up more time. I can absolutely work with individual teachers but would prefer combining classes if that is a possibility.
