Fever Pitch Vocalist/Dancer Submission Form

Projection Description  Musician and activist Taína Asili is currently seeking two backing vocalist/dancers to perform in her upcoming multi-media production, Fever Pitch / Rojo Vivo, a pilot project focused on climate justice slated to take place in mid-January in Albany, NY. Adults of all genders and body types are encouraged to apply. Backing vocal parts are one alto and one soprano, sung in English and Spanish. Performers should feel comfortable dancing lyrical/Afro-Latin fusion style choreography. We are seeking performers who are committed to our mission of raising awareness around climate change. There may also be an opportunity to continue working on the project on a U.S. tour in 2024.

Dates/Location/Payment  We are seeking performers from the Albany, NY, NYC and Boston areas. There will be 5 rehearsals, taking place between mid October and early January. Performers must have reliable transportation and be available for rehearsals in Albany. Our pilot production will take place in mid-January in Albany, NY. Performers must be available for all dates. Each performer will be paid $1000 for 5 rehearsals and 1 performance.

Fever Pitch / Rojo Vivo draws from Taína Asili’s lifetime of climate justice activism. By using the power of creativity Fever Pitch / Rojo Vivo not only inspires audiences to take action today, but invites us into the realm of the radical imagination to envision new and creative ways of living outside of exploitative systems and in right-relationship with each other and with our Earth.

Meet Choreographer Gregory Theodore Marsh  Gregory Theodore Marsh is an award-winning choreographer, director, and arts educator. Marsh has won nine awards for Best or Outstanding choreography in addition to several awards for Best Musical. With a career spanning more than 15 years, Marsh has worked in theater, film, and education. With training in jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and musical theater, his choreography has been featured on several stages in upstate NY including Proctors Theatre, Capital Repertory Theatre, and Playhouse Stage Co. It is his philosophy that the work we do as artists is a byproduct of who we are as people.
