Good Afternoon!
The response to our Minutes 4 Moms trial for virtual academic learning has been fabulous! We are so excited to test out our small group program this week and start individual sessions.*
Individual tutoring sessions are available NOW. Group session registration is due by Wednesday, 3/18. Schedule will be posted by Friday, 3/20.
Starting 3/23 we will be offering small group academic learning activities to provide structured time, social interaction, and retention of academic material. These groups will be based on grade level. All sessions at this time will be taught by certified public school teachers.
Each elementary session will follow a pattern of video conferencing instruction, independent work time, video conferencing instruction, with the 90 minute session split into smaller chunks. Breaks for activity and socializing with classmates are included throughout, 10-15 minutes of break time total. We also leave the class open for some social time for 20 minutes after class so that students can interact with each other and work on homework if they desire. (subject to change based on grade level)
Each middle school session will run 90 minutes with a short break between subjects. About 40-45 minutes of Math and English/Reading. All math classes will be offered with at least three students per class! Math will be sectioned by class not grade level whenever possible.
High school group math, history, and English classes will be available.
For the first week we will offer group sessions Monday through Thursday. Monday and Tuesday/Wednesday and Thursday will be related sessions, they will need to be completed together. You will not be able to sign up for one on Monday and one on Thursday. We are considering adding Friday for our second week.
Parents of participants will be emailed a suggested material list and required printable materials prior to the session. If you are unable to print please contact us about how we can solve this problem.
Your child must have access to a device with google hangouts (preferably computer or tablet over a smartphone, though a smartphone would work).
We also will offer 30 minute individual virtual sessions to help your child with any skills they are working on or struggling with in school. This time can also be used to prepare your child for what will be coming when we arrive back at school. Follow up work can be provided to bring back to the next session.
Teachers with specialty certifications will be available upon request, reading, ESOL, etc.
Our pricing is set up to account for the planning time and teaching time for teachers. We tried to make it as reasonable as possible to make it accessible to as many families as we can. Pricing packages are listed on the last question of our google form!
We will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this service to the The Kindness Pantry.
To sign up please fill out this form for each of the children you are signing up. We will be contacting you to follow up about the schedule.
We will be completing our trial this week so there is potential for some small changes to our plan based on student and parent feedback. We are asking for sign ups now to best plan for the week of the 23rd. Space will be provided on a first come first serve basis.
If you are not already a Minutes 4 Moms client, we do have a $30 annual fee to be a part of our network. We will reach out to get you set up. This will give you access to use any of our services all year.
*As previously stated, we always offer k-12 in person and virtual tutoring with certified teachers. These sessions can be purchased at a length and time of your choosing with a tutor you choose.
