The State of California requires that all cities and counties create a housing plan that addresses the needs of their respective community. The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea is updating our housing plan per State law and is seeking your feedback on housing needs within the Village. This survey is available to anyone interested in housing opportunities in Carmel, including but not limited to homeowners, tenants, business owners, and employees. In conducting this survey, the City would like to understand the community's needs better, develop an inclusive plan to meet those needs and ensure equitable access to housing resources. Your response to this survey will inform the policies and programs included in the updated housing plan.

In 2018, the State of California passed Assembly Bill 686, also known as Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing or AFFH, which is defined as taking meaningful actions, in addition to combating discrimination, that overcomes patterns of segregation and fosters inclusive communities free from barriers that restrict access to opportunity based on protected characteristics. The results of this survey will inform the housing programs that Carmel adopts to address current and future housing needs and ensure equal access to housing for all.

This survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your voice is valued, and we thank you in advance for your participation.
