CSC User Training Record
By continuing through the training record, you are acknowledging having read the following:

ABOUT US: The CSC is proud to bring pharmaceutical industry-level technologies to our academic setting. The resources we offer include compound libraries, equipment (high throughput liquid and plate handling, plate readers, and plate imagers), data analysis workstations, specialized software, and...training. Expert assistance is available for project planning, troubleshooting, or contracted lab work.

ABOUT THE TRAINING: Training by CSC staff (currently: Beverley Rabbitts) is required for every user, on each piece of equipment to be used. Training by another user is not sufficient. Anyone may receive training, individually or in small groups, and can include refresher training for existing users.

SCHEDULING: Training can be scheduled by email, subject to staff and equipment availability, and can be considered confirmed when it is accepted on the CSC staff-member's Google calendar. Note that my calendar is visible to anyone at UCSC, to help you identify times when we're both available. When arranging training, please say which equipment you want to use, so that it can be reserved.

DURATION: the training time will depend on the equipment and samples being used.

PREPARATION: Feel free to watch videos of training in advance if you wish, they are at csc.ucsc.edu/videos/. The in-person training may contain a mini-lecture, demonstration, and/or a chance to operate the equipment under supervision. This may be done with a dummy sample or your experimental sample or both. On the day of the training, if you are doing a demo run of your samples, please bring them with you. If you plan to collect data, please bring a USB drive to save it. If you want printed materials for the training, you can find information on the relevant equipment and methods at csc.ucsc.edu/equipment/.
