SJTB Liturgical Ministers
We are looking for additional liturgical ministers at all our services to help enhance our worship experience. After filling out this form, you will be contacted by the ministry lead for training and next steps.

Roles:
Altar Server & Cross Bearer: Altar servers and cross bearers assist the presider during the celebration of the Mass by setting the altar, holding the Roman Missal, ringing the bells, washing the hands of the priest, dispensing incense and giving the proper responses to prayers. Altar servers must be in the fourth grade and up. Must have received First Communion. Adult altar servers must complete Safe Environment training and background check.

Eucharistic Minister: Eucharistic Ministers help with Mass by serving the consecrated bread and wine. Must be confirmed.

Sacristan: The Sacristan Ministry cares for the Sanctuary and Mass items such as the vessels for Communion, altar cloths, etc. They set up the vessels for Mass. Distributes Communion as needed. Must be confirmed.

Lector: Proclaims the Word of God at Mass and special liturgies. Must be confirmed.

Greeters: Greeters welcome people to church, manage the collection and distribute bulletins. Can be done as individual, family, or ministry group.  
 
Point Person: The Point Person is responsible for checking the church before and after each Mass, taking care of collections and ensuring liturgical ministers are on hand for all positions. Background check required.
