Beginning Orchestra Information & Registration
Welcome to Orchestra! I’m so excited to start this incredible journey with you. If you’re registering for Beginning Orchestra, that means you have less than one year’s prior experience or no prior experience playing a stringed instrument! If you are not certain, please email me.

Here is the information you will need to get started this year with ORCHESTRA:

“What size should we rent?” Check out this handy guide: https://www.johnsonstring.com/rental/sizing.htm. Be sure to click to your selected instrument. It is best to get a SMALLER INSTRUMENT rather than one too large. You can trade up to a new size at any time throughout the year. Please contact me should you have ANY questions! All Beginning Orchestra students are required to participate in two ways:
  1. Small group pull-out lessons once every 6 school days (Odd # days only)
  2. Beginning Orchestra rehearsals once a week
LESSONS
Small group pull-out lessons will meet during the school day on Odd Number days only. A schedule will be generated and published once registration is closed. The schedule will be posted in our Schoology Pages when finalized. LESSONS START Monday, September 18th. Please bring your instrument and materials. The schedule will be posted the week of September 18th.
REHEARSALS
The full Beginning Orchestra will meet before school from 7:30-8:30 am. REHEARSALS START ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 2ND. Plan to arrive no earlier than 7:20 am. Please note the day of the week and the time. 
Attendance Policy
Students must participate for the duration of the school year. If a student needs to miss a rehearsal or lesson, please provide advance notice. All students must be prepared to begin playing at the start of rehearsal. Students must attend each concert and dress rehearsal.
