Use this form if you have received an Offer of Admission to Lincoln Alexander Law for Fall 2023 and would like to request a deferral to Fall 2024. Deferrals to spring, summer or semesters beyond one year will not be considered. Deferral requests must be submitted no later than Monday August 7, 2023.

Lincoln Alexander Law recognizes that some applicants encounter unique personal circumstances that represent legitimate reasons for requesting a deferral of admission to the next academic year. However, due to limited enrolment and competition for available spaces, deferrals are not guaranteed and are granted solely at TMU's discretion.

PLEASE NOTE: For a deferral request to be considered the non-refundable tuition deposit must be paid by the stated deadline and a firm acceptance received by OLSAS. If a deferral is granted, it will be dependent on satisfying all admission conditions stipulated in the Offer of Admission, and receipt of all final transcripts. Note that provisional scholarship or award funding (if applicable) cannot be deferred. Deferred applicants can reapply for scholarships and awards in their matriculation year.

If you begin/complete further studies at an accredited academic institution after being granted a deferral, and without prior approval, Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) reserves the right to rescind your deferral and Offer of Admission for Fall 2024. In this instance you will be required to reapply, pay a new application fee and submit official academic transcripts.

Submit this deferral of admission request form as soon as possible and no later than August 11th. You will receive a response to your request via the email address provided on your OLSAS application.

The information provided on this form will be considered confidential and will be included in your official application to Toronto Metropolitan University. TMU reserves the right to request medical or other documentation to support an applicant’s request for a deferral. The information and documentation submitted will not be provided to any other department at TMU, including the Academic Accommodation Support office.
