NGC Bocas Children's Festival 2024 City Hall and NALIS POS Thursday 25 + Friday 26 April 2024 Registration Form

The NGC Children’s Festival is back! This year we're extending a special invitation to Primary Schools to register their students for an interactive storytelling and performance session:

  1. Murchison Brown Auditorium City Hall, Port of Spain, Thursday 25 April/Friday 26 April 10 am - 12 pm or 12 pm-2 pm

  2. Friday 10a.m.-12p.m. is fully booked.

This occasion is hosted by His Worship the Mayor Chinua Alleyne, and The Port of Spain Corporation, and has the full support of the Ministry of Education. The Ministry’s Approval letter accompanies this invitation.

Hundreds of students and teachers from primary schools across the nation greet each other, uniting at the event. Our theme this year throughout the festival is, “Imagine The Future, New Voices”. The event will feature readings by adult and children’s writers, dramatic and musical performances by students.

Due to the limited number of seats we are inviting up to 15 students from your school, and two teachers, to attend events at City Hall.

We are also inviting two - three students who are passionate about music and writing to attend each of the following workshops:

Thursday Workshops: Old Fire Station NALIS, Port of Spain:

1. Poetry Workshop with Sufia Giza from 11 am -12 pm

         2. Virtual  Songwriting Workshop with Anslem Douglas from 12 to 1 pm


Friday Workshops: Children’s Library, NALIS, Port of Spain:

    1. Interactive Storytelling Affirm & Play with Storyplay 10:30 am-11:30 am (Infants & Above)

2. (Maga) Zines Workshop with  Tracy Assing from 12 to 1 pm

3. Extempo Workshop with Kevan Calliste from 1 to 2 pm   

    4. Wire Bend Folk Theatre Workshop with Rubidiri Victor from 1 to 2 pm


Friday Audio & Video Storytelling: Old Fire Station NALIS, Port of Spain:

    1.The Adventures of Spin and Scratch-The Relocation - 

        Audio/Video Book by Anslem Douglas from 10 to 11 am

    2. The Adventures of AGRIMAN Motion Comics from 11 am to 12 pm


Some of these workshops will be better suited to students from Standards 2 to 5. Workshops for Infants & Up are indicated above.
