When:
Saturday, February 18th, 2023 2:00 PM (heavy rain cancels, light rain or drizzle does not)
Meet at
UCSC North Perimeter Lot - see
https://taps.ucsc.edu/pdf/parking-map.pdf (parking there is
free on weekends)
Be on time - we may move into the woods by 2:05. We will start with a brief explanation of shinrin-yoku practice, plus a brief meditation to prepare us. Then we’ll spend an hour or more on a beautiful walk among the trees, gently and reverently immersing ourselves in the sensory experience of the woods. At the end, we’ll re-assemble and share insights from our experiences (and perhaps some forest tea - bring a reusable mug).
We will be outdoors for the full time – please dress in layers (the forest can be cooler and wetter than in town) and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for spending time on the trail. You may want to bring a portable chair if you think you'll prefer to sit most of the time (we'll help you get set up).
