Rebecca Rubenstein Editorial Services
Hi! I'm so pleased you're interested in working together.

Please fill out this form to help me understand which kinds of services you're seeking from me, and also a brief overview of what your writing project is and what you're hoping to gain from our work together.

I will respond to you to chat more about your needs as soon as I'm able!

What's your name? *
Which editorial services are you seeking at this time? (Please check all that apply) *
Required
What type of writing project are you seeking editorial services for? (Because I edit on a per-project basis, please select only one; if seeking assistance with multiple projects, please select "Other" and specify) *
What is the current title of your writing project? (If it's untitled, "Untitled" works!) *
What is the current page count and word count of your writing project? (If it's a standalone section of a novel or memoir, please provide only the page count/word count of the section you'd like to work on) *
Are you currently working with a strict deadline (i.e. you're hoping to submit your work to a residency/fellowship/MFA application, an upcoming contest, a specific submissions call or reading period that is within the next 1-2 months, etc.)?   *
If you answered Yes to the previous question, please provide me with more information about the deadline you're working under (the date of the deadline, a link to the residency/fellowship/MFA application, the contest, submissions or reading period call, etc.)
Please write a brief description (1-3 sentences) of your writing project (i.e. "This is a short story about a young, queer couple whose lives are disrupted when one of them learns they have cancer. The story tackles themes of grief, loss of bodily agency, and fraught interpersonal relationships.") *
Please tell me if there is anything specific you are hoping to address or focus on through our work together (i.e. you would like to work on voice, you would like to sharpen your dialogue, you would like to discover a better structure for your project, etc.) *
Please tell me a little bit about yourself and your writing background. (This is just so I can get to know you a bit. A professional bio is fine, and it is also totally okay if you're just starting out, are finally in the process of prioritizing your writing after years of being unable to, and/or don't have a ton of publication credits—I love working with writers at all stages.) *
Link to your personal website, Twitter, or Instagram (optional, but helpful for me)
I wholly understand that financial hardship and inequities are often barriers to seeking services from independent editors. As such, for smaller-scale projects, I'm able to take on a limited amount of sliding scale clients each month. Please let me know if you require this; if so, I'm happy to talk with you further about what this means for you and how I can meet your needs. (I'm unfortunately unable to offer sliding scale for book-length manuscript projects at this time.) *
Personal Ethics Statement: The world is a complicated and brutal place, and often our writing functions as a means to address and challenge its complications and brutalities head-on. With this understanding, while I am more than happy to work with writers whose projects engage with and question the larger and more serious implications and impacts of racism, white supremacy, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, ableism, fatphobia, and other forms of hate, dehumanization, and violence towards marginalized and vulnerable communities, I will not work with any writers whose projects or personal ethos promote and/or perpetuate any of these ideologies. If I find you or your project to be in violation of these terms, our working relationship will be terminated immediately. *

Anything else you would like me to know before we set up a time to talk? (*Please note that I do not schedule consultations for Proofreading, The Sneak Peek, or The Sneak Peek: Book Edition services, but I will still be in touch via email!)
