AN ONLINE JOURNEY INTO LAUDATO SI’

This short course consists of a series of 7 sessions of 1.5 hours each. We will focus on the lessons and messages Pope Francis has for all of us in Laudato Si’ and how we, as Church, can respond to the call of the times as disciples of light, hope, love, justice and freedom to a world imprisoned in crises of its own making.  

Dates: alternate Tuesdays starting 16 June 2020
Time: 8.00 – 9.30 pm

Session Format
5 min -Opening Prayer
50-60 min – Presentation
15-20 mins - Questions & Discussion
5-10 min - Closing Prayer

Terms/Guidelines for Participation
1) Please be punctual and stay for the whole session each time.
2) We wish to minimise disruption and background noise. Please put your mike on mute during all sessions unless you wish to ask a question or make a comment.
3) We prefer your video to be on during the sessions.
4) Please have a copy of Laudato Si’ with  you during the sessions (hard copy or downloaded from http://w2.vatican.va/content/dam/francesco/pdf/encyclicals/documents/papa-francesco_20150524_enciclica-laudato-si_en.pdf).
5) Please have your Bible with you during the sessions.
6) It will be good to have a notebook to take down points and a glass of water to keep you hydrated.

Workshop Facilitator  
Geraldine Clare Westwood is currently the Regional Director of the Roman Catholic Episcopal Commission for Creation Justice of Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei which is committed to advancing creation justice and resilience. She has conducted many courses on Laudato Si’, climate change and creation/ecological justice. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.  Clare has worked on food, agriculture, food sovereignty, biosafety and climate change for over a decade, mainly through serving poor rural communities, especially farming communities; and NGOs/CSOs working with such communities across 16 countries in Asia. She has worked with groups to build community resilience to climate change in rural Asia in collaboration with the German Catholic Church. Clare is also a writer and researcher on food, agriculture, climate change and agriculture, and biosafety for Third World Network, an international NGO focused on equitable and ecologically sustainable development.
