FWES Walker Permission Form 2023-24
Students designated as “walkers” will be required to remain on the front porch until an adult arrives to meet them. Walkers are dismissed at 3:40pm and adults meeting students must be on campus at 3:40pm. Thank you! Students who are not matched with an adult by 3:45pm will be sent back to the classroom before carpool begins. Adults arriving after that time must show ID at the school doorbell and the student will be called to the front for dismissal at that time.

If you would like your child to walk alone off the school porch to walk home or meet you in a different location, your child must have your permission and a permission tag indicator on his/her back pack. Students with permission to walk off of the front porch unaccompanied will not be allowed to enter the bus parking lot and will be required to immediately leave campus upon dismissal. 

Only students in 2nd-5th grades will be allowed to walk off the porch alone, however, with parental permission, younger students may walk off the porch with an older sibling. 

It is highly recommended that permission only be signed for students for whom families feel are responsible and safe when walking off school grounds without adult supervision, and older siblings who will wait for and monitor younger students appropriately. It is the responsibility of the family to ensure that the older sibling understands the requirement to wait for the K-1 sibling on the front porch before leaving campus each day. 

Please complete the Google form below so a notation can be made to the school issued walker tag added to your child’s backpack. The form must be completed by 4:00pm on Friday, August 25th for students to have a walker tag with permission to walk on the 1st day of school. 

*Walker tags will be added to backpacks on Monday, August 28th during the school day. Until this form is on file, an adult must be available to meet the student at 3:40pm at the front entrance of the school. 

The form will lock daily at 12:00 noon. 

Updates will be reviewed daily the first three weeks of school.
