West Coast Grill would like to offer you the opportunity to compete as a Chef in our third annual Master Shucker and Caesar Throwdown competition in Nelson on June 16th, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm.
The event will gather Chefs and bartenders from around the Kootenays on the beautiful lakeside patio of West Coast Grill.
As a Chef, you will be provided with 14 oysters to shuck as fast and clean as you can and you will present the 12 best ones. The competition will be by knock out where the winner moves on to the next round. 10 second penalties will be given to each oyster that is not properly shuck (broken shell, not completely severed from the shell or other reasons given by the judges)
The 1st round will start at 3pm and will go until 4:30pm. You will be judged on the time and cleanliness of your oysters. We will have a prize for the 1st and 2nd position. You will also be given one extra ticket to offer to friend or family. We have limited spots available and contestants will be chosen on a first come first serve basis.
