The Osher Scholarship

Scholarship amount: Up to $5,000 per academic year (renewable)

Due to the generosity of Bernard Osher Foundation of San Francisco, Menlo College is able to grant partial tuition scholarships to qualified students. In appointing Osher Scholars, we seek candidates who have the potential to excel as scholars, as leaders, and as contributors to the Menlo community during their tenure as a student. While we encourage students from all backgrounds to apply, preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Students who show academic promise and a commitment to obtaining their degree
• Students who demonstrate financial need
• Students who have experienced a gap in their education of 5 or more years
• Students who are between the ages of 25 and 50

Important notes:

• Scholarship to be used at Menlo College
• There is a limited number of Osher Scholarships available
• Students must complete a FAFSA or Dream Act Application
• Students may be eligible for additional academic scholarship(s) during the admissions process
• Students may apply separately for federal or state funding

To be considered for an Osher Scholarship, you must submit the completed application as well as the required essay (250 - 500 words). The essay should cover the following areas: the factors that motivated you to attend college, your need for scholarship support, your goals upon completion of your degree, and the circumstances that caused your studies to be interrupted (if applicable): *
