GLAD® have partnered up with TerraCycle and Eco Educate to run a challenge whereby schools collect and recycle food care waste items and vote for their school to earn points. During Term 3 and 4, all Australian schools are encouraged to recycle lunchbox soft plastics including zip lock bags and cling wrap as part of the GLAD® to Recycle challenge. The more units of food care waste recycled and the more votes, the more chances of winning!

The challenge also allows for our waste warriors to get involved. If your school is already doing great things and most students have ‘naked’ lunchboxes you can still get involved by inviting your community to vote for your school. The more votes your school gets, the more chances you have to be in the running to win some great prizes.


The GLAD® to Recycle Challenge runs through Terms 3 and 4 and you can register to participate in either or both terms. The competition periods are as follows:

Term 3
Competition period: 12 July 2021 - 24 September 2021

Term 4
Competition period: 4 October 2021 - 17 December 2021
