Thank you for applying to be part of the OR Mediation Association Board Directors. The application deadline is Saturday,02/28/2024 at 5:00 PM PST. You must either live or work in Oregon to apply.

Required Qualifications:

•OMA Member and subscriber of Core Standards of Mediation Practice (OMA membership scholarships available).

•Commitment to strengthening Diversity, Equity and Inclusion frameworks.

•Familiarity with the mediation landscape and how OMA fits into to the community. 

•Willingness to champion missions and programs with confidence and enthusiasm. 

•Ability to contribute and collaborate in consensus based decision-making practices.

•Possesses a learning mindset with a curiosity to learn more and explore new ideas. 

•Advocacy and willingness to support fundraising to secure future resources.

•A desire for stewardship & service. Learn more about  OMA's History.

•Must be comfortable listing personal information on necessary disclosures. 

•Must live or do work in the State of Oregon. 

Additional Expertise is Preferred: 

•Experience facilitating large group consensus-based decision making processes.

•Prior nonprofit board experience and/or collaborative team experiences.

•Nonprofit or other Legal Expertise, Financial, Human Resources, Leadership. 

•Advocacy, Marketing, Grant Writing, Fundraising background and experience.

•Diversity, Equity & Inclusion experience (in practice, location, and/or culture.)

•Those with unlisted areas of expertise are also encouraged to apply.

Tell us how you would bring support to OMA's purpose.  OMA's Articles of Incorporation describe our purpose in four parts. 
1. Promote and popularize mediation in Oregon. 
2. Provide training, support, and continuing education. 
3. Developing credentialing, certification, and/or licensure programs to help ensure that Oregon mediators are well qualified. 
4. Establishing ethical standards for Oregon mediators and mechanisms to review/respond.

If elected, are you willing to spend about 12 hours per month for up to three months to complete an initial orientation period? Time spent will depend on your level experience, skills and familiarity with OMA's software.

The majority of the training is learning about OMA's history, team building, back end file management, safety and security and software programs. OMA has Google Workspace. NEON One CRM, Zoom and WordPress.

Are you committed to serving in a Board capacity for a three-year term? Your commitment is 4 hours per month or as much time as you want to commit. The time varies by board position.
